Microsoft is not shipping any clients, this part of the program to reduce the clutter in Windows 7. It's also to simplify development cycles and make it easier to ship to other countries that may restrict the usage of such applications under anti-competition rules.

I've been using Windows 7 since it came out in 64Bit so far I've had to major glitches other than a few bits of graphics corruption and misplaced text. On the same box compared to 64Bit Vista Business it's a lot more responsive. The new features for dual displays, new short-cuts and Aero features (Snap, Shake and Peek) all make for a better desktop. Being able to re-organise your active icons becomes more important when you realise that that there is short cuts for the first five icons.

Installation times and boot times are faster, but there is problems with hibernation mode for some people. Shut down times seems to be about par with Vista. Memory management seems to be better but I've not really paid much attention to this except when editing a 3Gb image W7 seem to use marginally less RAM.

Overall for a beta build this is probably one of the most stable ones I've used from M$.
