Phoned my hosting company this afternoon. Took 40 minutes for them to
answer but at least is was an 0800 number. Helpful chap seemed to think
that there was still stuff hidden on my website enabling the hacker to get
my new password every I change it. He said the only way to solve the
problem would be for them to completely delete everything. He asked if I
had a backup (I have) and asked me to email them authorizing them to
delete. I did that but have so far had 3 emails from them asking for my
username and password. I've sent these to them twice so far. So far nothing
has been deleted - looks like another phone call tomorrow :-(
BTW §ireßird & $ir Vivor - you were right - they can prove I didn't post
the nasty stuff - a weight off my mind :-)
Will update again when anything happens.
Why are they asking you for your username *and* password?
Username should be enough to identify you and they *should* have your password otherwise how do they know it's you uploading stuff to it?
