Anyway, after sitting here for about an hour I went to the kitchen to make myself another cuppa and realised I was walking, not trying to keep upright and stumbling from foot to foot, really walking. Investigating, hoping no one was looking at me through the kitchen window as I paced to and fro, I found I had gained control of some new muscles in my hips. I could actually hold my legs in the hips as I walked.

I wonder if this means my legs won't dislocate daily (sometimes more than once a day) like they have for the past 6 years? It will be a wonderful Christmas present if that's so!

I am suddenly not sitting on two pointed bones any more, it's very comfy sitting down I'm pleased to say.

This has been a very comforting repair and I hope it arrives for all you patients faster than it arrived for me, if you started taking the pain killers earlier than I did it probably will.

So, I now start the day walking properly. Don't care if it stops again before the next repair because it is such a wonderful feeling. I wish I hadn't forgotten how I used to hold/use my body before the cerebral aneurism because maybe I could have got right quicker - but then maybe that would have meant things would have gone back to shape too fast.

Carers and patients remember one thing is very important - the pain killers. Don't let the patient suffer pain, it stops repair! Sorry to keep repeating this but it really *is* important for progress.

I'm going to have a better Christmas than I thought, I do so hope yours goes well, too. Remember Onwards and Upwards and you'll get there, just have faith, repairs *will* come!
