My best friend's Dad is in hospital and due to have an op tomorrow -
something to do with an aneurism very near his heart. Could I please
beg for the power of SISU to be with him?
One post fits all - cos am= tiddly so not got concentration enough to
reply to all individually, sorry ;-( Suzie's Dad (whose name I can't
remember, sorry, but the Lord knows who we're talking about) is ok,
and many thanks to SISU. The op was supposed to last 3-4 hours, but
was 7.5 hours. No complications, just that sometimes ops take
longer. Last I heard, he was in recovery and doing well. Many thanks
for all your prayers, and please can I ask for continued prayers for
Suzie's Dad's recovery. Thank you.
UPS really *does* have an effect!
At least her Dad's hadn't burst, like mine did, Jammyface.
We are very grateful for that, Pam. He would've had very little if no chance had it burst due to the positioning of the aneurism.
It was diagnosed early and so just a case of getting the op done in
time. Glad things have gone well for him :-)
Thank you, Pam and everyone else in UPS. Ray (my best friend's Dad came out of horspittal yesterday (Tuesday) having sailed through the op and recovery with *no* complications. The previous time Ray had a heart op he suffered kidney failure, etc, afterwards, but this time he has been as right as rain. I thank the power of prayer and UPS for this. Please, UPS, will you accept my friend Suzie's thanks to you for all your help with her Dad's operation and recovery. :-)
Now I have to ask UPS for prayers for my own Dad, please. He is 81, and yesterday (Tuesday) my husband, my Dad and I went to lunch at a local fish restaurant. During the meal, Dad collapsed. His skin went grey. The staff in the restaurant were absolutely fantastic, really supportive and caring. Hospital has decided to keep him in for a few days, to see if they could find out why he collapsed. He has a history of fainting, going back many years, but not very often lately. ECGs for the past few years have reported something like 'left branch bundle block', which was investigated and reported to be 'normal for him' This time, hospital have decided to keep him in for a few days to see if they can find out why he faints sometimes. I was with him the previous time he fainted (3 years ago), and he only went bright white that time, not grey. They've taken him off the betablockers he was on, cos his heart was beating too slowly, and say he may need a temporary pacemaker. He's currently on a 24-hour tape, monitoring his heart. He looks really well now, and in good spirits. :-) He was in A&E for 12 hours whilst being looked at then waiting for a bed in the Emergency Assesment Unit, now he is waiting for a bed on Johnson Ward (the heart ward). Whether he'll get there before he is discharged is anybody's guess!!!! ;-) A&E were wonderful, even though they were very overstretched. At one point I counted 17 patients on trollies and 2 in wheelchairs in A&E (this was NOT the waiting room, BTW). All the treatment bays were full, and the Drs and nurses had to thread their way through all the trollies to get to their patients. Nobody got missed, everyone got attended to, and all was calm and efficient.
UPS, I ask for your prayers for my Dad (his name is Eric), and please give thanks for the staff at both the Elite Restaurant, Lincoln and Lincoln County Hospital.
