When I visit the site and click on catchup to watch something it *tells

don't want to download a Microsoft browser is there any alternative to
play the videos?

Silverlight is Microsofts attempt to wrest streaming video away from
Adobe Flash.
Curiously ITV streams video in WMV and Flash formats for users of
Internet Explorer on Windows, but should you choose to use someone elses
browser or operating system then you need to install Silverlight.

So. Should you be independently minded and not follow that crowd of
Lemmings over the cliff but still want to watch some ITV stuff, you have
to infest your system with another piece of crap software.

Not sure who is to blame here, ITV or someone else with a big fat cheque
book.

Try Internet Explorer and see how you get on.
