This is an instance where modern technology works. I forgot my Sky PIN once and so called them to have it reset which they did while I was holding on for no more than a couple of minutes.

Afterwards I thought about what was involved, first step push some buttons on a computer, then send that information electronically to a transmitter, beam it up to a satellite, transmit it alongside all the other data, have it picked up by Sky boxes everywhere and have it ignored by all of them except mine which recognised it and changed my PIN instantly.
