It *was* the only transaction on the statement Ray. It was the phone
number on the statement that I phoned so it would have been Visa I
contacted.
The card has been cancelled and they have sent out replacement cards
already. I said I would not pay and was told that interest would be added
but that if it was accepted as a fraudulent transaction then they would
refund to our bank a/c. I have told them to cancel those cards as well.
It is just so annoying.

On 13th Aug. CC statement showed a transaction made on 1st August on M'sTelephone calls are not good enough, put it all in writing in a letter,
card which had not been used for months.
Phoned Barclays pronto and was told they would send a form, would be
received in 5 days to complete and return asap. No form received and
phoned again - put through to fraud dept. time was 5p.m. Recorded
message
said opening hours are from 9 to 5. Rang back next morning at 9.05 and
told no one in that dept - ring back in 30 mins. Had Drs. appt. within
next hour so did not ring back until afternoon.
Once again told form would be sent but to pay at least the minimum charge
to
reduce additional charges. Form still not received. I have paid the
d****ed bill - *not with good grace* because we did not incur the charge
in
the first place. This card has not been out of M's wallet - no one has
had
access to it. Last week I used my card to buy from Amazon - I had to
verify my card before it was accepted and that amount was less than the
fraud one that has got through the system. Grrrrr!!!!
fax or email, or all 3.
Contact details are all on the cc statement.
You should not have to wait for a form, a telephone call to suspend the
card is the first thing to do. If some toerag has the card details you
have to stop them using it again.
That is the number one priority.
If you get no sense from the bank go direct to Visa.
And you should have refused to pay until it's sorted. If the card hasn't
been used for months the fraudulant transaction was presumably the only
one on the statement?
