Got home today and upon checking my Zire Palm Top I noticed all the
data on my the Date Book had disappeared. No worries I thought 'cos
it's all stored and archived on the Desktop software. So I set the
desktop to override the handheld and hot synched to restore the data
to the handheld. That all disappeared too So now I've lost best
part of 4 years activity on both handheld and desktop. Checked with
the Palm help pages and the suggestion there was to use the XP System
Restore. Tried that for a couple of restore points still no
joy. I've found where all the archived stuff is, and managed to
look at that, but only all the stuff I've manually deleted has
been saved - none of which I want. Anyone out there got any other
bright suggestions on how I may recover the data. All my contacts
details are still in both the hanheld and the desktop, it's just
everything on the Date Book that seems to have gone. Can't seem to
find a help/support email addy for Palm. :(

You could try this.

That looks an awfully complex thing to use Joe. Wouldn't know where to
start. I#ve now found a UK 'phone number for them and how to e-mail, so if
no luck after I try a earlier system restore. I'll try those. Seems
funny to me that they should archive the stuff you manually delete but not
keep a copy of what you have not deleted.
