Where do flies go in the winter.

That's always bugged me, too.

At least that was better than the wasps nest I once found in the loft.

Been there - done that! :-(
Oh, plus the one above the front door (in Southfields).

Not long after were married we rented a flat in Merton Park. It was filthy
and we spent the first couple of days giving it a Spring Clean. We left the
French windows open to air it and went to have our dinner. When we went
back the room was full of moths that had come in from the open ground behind
the houses. Vacuum cleaner was used on them. Another night huge ones came
into the bedroom, they were too big for the vacuum and had to be attacked
with rolled up newspapers.
In Leningrad our hotel room and corridor had a strange chemical smell. We
left the windows open to air the room and went out for the evening. When we
got back the room was full of vicious mosquitoes. The battle of Leningrad
was re-enacted. I won but suffered near fatal injuries:-)
Derek.
