My Granddaughter has just been on MSN, she has three young boys so she is
studying at home
it appears she has trouble printing her coursework - she does not have a
printer at home but goes to the library to print it but says the printers do
not recognize the programme she uses - she says she does not have `Word` on
her computer but I don't know what she does use. Is there a way to download
`Word` - or does she have to buy a disk? I thought all computers had Word!!

Can anyone help please?

She has Vista on per PC.

She could be using Microsoft Works Word processor that usually comes bundled with most PCs. The file names have a .wps extension by default but you can save files in the Word format of .doc from the Works application. If this is so she should load up her document in the Works Word Processor and then click <File><Save as> then open up the drop down list labelled 'Save as type:' and select the file type .doc.

The document should then be recognized by the library computers.
