Same here again today Sandra. I spent the morning in the garden
tidying up. It was warm enough to get away with a t-shirt and
lightweight cardi. Breeks and trainers were also worn - just in case
any smartypants picks me up on it! :-D

Hehe, I did similar here and it is SO good to be out in the sunshine,
isn't it. Signs of new growth and things bursting out (and that isn't
me out of my jeans!!) gives you the feeling Spring is just around the
corner
:-)

I agree there ~~Linda~~, you just feel so much better in yourself for
being out there and can really feel the heat from the sun.

Yes out of the wind it was lovely. Mind you, I sure missed it yesterday
when it turned cloudy and this morning it's damp out.

We have some very fat buds on the daffs now and the mini iris we planted
last autumn have just come into flower,

I have mini daffs in full flower, along with hellebores, snowdrops, lots
of primroses in a bank by the drive and some gorgeously scented buds just
opened on a viburnum near the front door. Almost worth opening it and
standing there just to catch a whiff <g>

That sounds beautiful Linda. I've had wild primroses flowering through
the winter and there are two viburnum in the garden too. There is a white
flowered one which gets almost black berries which finished flowering
just before Xmas and is just starting again! That is in a pot. In the
garden border is a Viburnum bodnantense 'Dawn' which is winter flowering
and has pink pom-poms on the end of all the bare branches. The perfume
from that one is heavenly. :-)

as has my white camellia.

I used to have a white camelia but it had been planted in the wrong
place or rather the right place at the time but after my neighbour cut
down a large shrub and changed his fence, it proved to be the wrong
place! Each year the buds would either turn brown before they opened or
almost as soon as they opened and then sit there looking ugly, so
eventually we took it out. I really MUST get around to replanting a new
one somewhere more suitable as it had such lovely flowers before.

Because our soil isn't suitable I keep them in large pots and make sure I
keep them well watered with ericaceous plant food.

What
surprised me most is the passionflower as it is bending under the
weight of buds which look as though they're about ready to bloom.

Yes, I saw one the other day, which had fallen off its trellis support,
presumably as had become top heavy! Up close when in flower they are
quite stunning, aren't they.

They're gorgeous, aren't they? These are some of last year's blooms:

You can see just how many buds were on it back then too.

I love my
garden. :-)

Me too! Bit frustrating as for the last 18mths I've been unable to do
much work in it, apart from 'pottering'. Hoping that now treatment is
working and after the dual ops on my shoulders (and a bit of recovery
time) I will be able to get to grips with it, if not this year, then
next. Hubby is very good at doing as I direct but I just want to be able
to DO it myself! lol I'm sure you and all the other gardeners will
understand. It's not really something that is very satisfying by proxy
lol.

I do hope the new treatment works for you Linda as it is bitterly
frustrating to be in that situation. Carpal tunnel syndrome is nowhere
near as painful or debilitating as your problems with your shoulders but
until I had both wrists operated on both my hands were partly paralysed.
Let's say I'm not the world's most patient patient (lol) and I became
quite grumpy when I couldn't manage any of the handicrafts or gardening
that I love so much. (Truthfully, I couldn't even hold a plate or cup
without dropping them) :-(

A gentleman I worked with at CAB had both shoulders replaced and he always
maintained he gained a new lease of life. He was so impressed that he had
both hips and knees done afterwards too! Let's hope your treatment works
as well as his.
