Hi, Rosie. may I ask what is in the fields on either side of the "and
even steeper" photo? Just wondering about the electric fence. :-)
Looks like a very beautiful part of the world there.
would probably be cattle or sheep?
But are they electric fences? Down here in Cornwall usually only one strand
of the fence wire is electrified and then it is usually a temporary affair
strung on insulated metal rods that can be moved to restrict the stock to
just one part of the field if needed.
If they are permanent electric fences I would expect to see warning notices
on at least several of the fence posts, but I see none.
I must admit the black blobs on the fence posts do look like insulators
though.
I know a farmer who has installed permanent electric fences in all his fields. He doesn't have them all electrified at the same time but uses notices on stakes which he moves to the fields currently (pun intended) electrified. Apparently it's cheaper, and easier, to move warning posts than moving fences. 3 or 4 rows if wire seems to imply cattle rather than sheep.
