This morning I uninstalled Firefox, and then installed again cos I'm
having
the same problem I had several days ago.

As Joe (wtwjgc) told me to, I clicked on Tools/Options/Main tab and
checked
the box to make Firefox my default browser. Then I type (eg)
http://www.bbc.co.uk/ into the Location bar, so why can't I get that
website
on the screen? It shows "Done" in the bottom left hand side of the
screen,
but I still can't get to view any websites in in the front page of
Firefox.

Last time I went back to having IE as the default browser cos it was
driving
me potty.

Would appreciate a bit of help here I think

Clear the cache in Firefox (Tools - Options - Privacy - Private Data -
Clear Now), then close down Firefox.
Open Internet Explorer, it should ask you to make it default - say Yes.
Close IE - Open FF again. That should ask to make it default - say Yes.
Hopefully, that should sort it out.

I'd already done that Joe, and it did say FF was the default browser
before I posted to SiSu about it.
But, cos I always do as I'm told, I followed all your instructions, did
everything wot you said, typed in the bbc website, clicked and got
exactly the same as before.
Anything else I can try?

Close Firefox. Click on Windows "Start" button - Open "Run".
When a command window opens, type the following exactly (without the
quotes):-
"firefox.exe -silent -setDefaultBrowser"
Press Enter
Type (without the quotes) "exit"
Press enter.
Keep fingers crossed. :)

Did that Joe, and then clicked on OK (not enter) (I've got Windows XP Home)
After that I got the Desktop, so where do I post the last "Exit" (without
quotes)?
Still got my fingers crossed.....
