Gets my vote. People should be able to make personal choices, but on the
whole we are lazy, get sidetracked and a lot of people don't do the 'opt
in' thing. They would be more likely to make the effort and opt 'out' if
that is what they wanted.
It would mean that their families wouldn't be faced with a big decision at
a time when they aren't up to making decisions. It would also give life (
or a vastly increased quality of life) to a lot more people.

I disagree with you on this Boo.
My youngest son, Edward, was killed in a motor accident when he was 20.
Had his body been mutilated to harvest his organs before I could identify
him it would have added to the trauma.
