Since getting home from hospital I have noticed that some of the pills I'm
taking, should be taken with or after food, and some must be taken at
evenly spaced times ( I presume in that case 3 times per day means around
every 8 hours). However whilst in hospital I was given them at
breakfast - around 08-00 (fair enough), just after lunch - around 12-30
and again sometime in the evening - 20-00 ish (without any food) well
after our 18-00 dinner. Since I assume that they know exactly what they
are doing ( slight cough) that times of 4½ hours and 12 hours are
acceptable approximations for 8 hours, and 2 hours after food is as good
as with food? Just a thought. Or don't the pill manufacturers
instructions mean very much anyway?

I'm on Lercanidipine (?)("Zanidip") for blood pressure, which is upposed to
be taken at least 15 mins before food.
Googling indicates that the dosage is calculated to allow for the amount of
drug that is digested by the stomach in its 'empty' state, and that taking
the pills with or after meal means the body does not digest as much, meaning
that the dosage will be effectively (up to) doubled.
Seems to make sense, so I make sure to follow the rules if possible. So far
so good...
Maybe yours need to be with food, or when stomach is busy with other stuff,
so as to be not digested at all ?

Perhaps as others have indicated, the hopsital routine makes things more
difficult.
(and if things go wrong, you're in the right place to get it sorted!)
