Meanwhile I am going to try setting up MSN and Skype but I shall be reinstall Skype and will have another number after my addy - no doubt.
Oh! and Works Suite would not install so Dell are going to ring me back on Monday between 4 and 5 to check things are OK and have another go at Works Suite - or send me a new set of discs.
I now seem to have got "C" back as my hard drive.

Go into Control Panel and check Date, Time Language an Regional Option.
Region should be set to English (United Kingdom).
Language - text services - details should be English (UK)
Also check (same page) Installed Services should be Keyboard - English.
Hope that should sort things out.
