I had to call Netgear to get my dead WAP replaced under warranty - all calls to 0870 numbers.
Call 1
Went through menu options, got an internal ring tone, after 5 minutes a robot said there is no one available to answer your call. please call back' and hung me up.
Call 2
Got through eventually to a human bean who said I had pressed the wrong menu option and I should call again. I said I had been holing for 10 minutes could she transfer me, she said no.
Calls 3 and 4
Must have got the wrong menu options, just didn't get anywhere.
Call 5
Got through and listened to an American woman extolling the virtues of Netgear, finally 'phone answered in Mumbai. Spent 75 minutes (I kid you not) going through various tests to see if WAP was really dead, working to a very tight script. After this it was decided the WAP was dead, I was given an RMA number. I was then told I would be transferred to somebody who would arrange collection. Put on hold with American woman again, finally got through to Mumbai again, confirmed all my details again and was then told I needed to call the courier to arrange collection.

Took dog for walk to calm down.

Call 6
Called the courier, they had the RMA number on their system and will collect tomorrow. Can you tell me if that will be morning or afternoon? Yes it will be between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
If I wasn't retired and my time was money I think I would have carried out a home repair with a lump hammer at quite an early stage. Definitely home-plug next time.
