Can you find out what the actual Error Message was?
& also, at what point "part way through" in the Installation it
failed.
I tried but understandably he was a bit punch drunk by that tme, the
help line person had given him lots of instructions and he had forgotten
what it was he had done

Next time he is at his Dad's I will get his Dad to try connecting it to
the router there, via the ethernet cable. If we can do that then I can
use net meeting to 'see' it and have a better idea of what is what.
