Is it possible to transfer photos from the poota back to
the digital camera memory card please? And if so, how do
I do it?

Yes, I deleted the whole memory card by mistake........lol

Provided the photos haven't been renamed then you should be able
to copy them back OK. I've found that my camera will only read
its own file names.

I haven't renamed them Mike, so can I plug in the camera and
then copy them back? And if so, what will be the file extension
to find the camera?

You *should* be able to just plug your camera in and copy the
photos back.
I think you meand *drive letter* and not *file extension* to find
the camera.
Open My Computer once you have your camera plugged in and it should
show your camera as a removable disk drive, probably lettered "F"
or it could be any other letter depending on how many drives your
have.
Then browse to where you copied the photos and select them all and
just drag them all back to the camera drive letter.

That was interesting Mike. I only had one removable disk drive "E"

Is that the Drive Letter that the camera Memory/Card is then?

so dragged the photos across but they're not back on the camera
anywhere. So back to My Computer, and when I click on "E" my photos
come up on the screen

Yep, cos that's where you put them...

But, they're not on the camera when I page through to look at them.
There are two photos on there which I took just after I deleted the
previous lot in error.

Anything else I can try?

Make sure the Photos are in the correct *Folder* (Directory) on the
Camera Memory/Card (as well as being the right format of FileName)

Switch the windoze Explorer View to show the Folder Tree View
(on the Left) & you will see that (most) Digital Cameras) have
a Folder Structure.

Usually, the Pics are in a *Sub-Folder of the Memory/Card (& not
in the "Root" Folder).
The Folder Name is often something like DCIM & maybe a further
Sub-Folder with a Number

The Files need to be in the Correct (Sub-)Folder on the Camera Memory
Card & also the correct Format of FileName, for the Camera to then
recognise them & display them.

Right, this is what I've done, based upon Mike and pmj's advice, but it
still doesn't work.
Plugged in the camera, went into My Computer and My Docs, then File and
Folder, then highlighted the photos I wanted to move back to the camera.
Clicked on "copy to folder", then Removable Disk "E", then sub-folder DC1M,
and then double clicked on sub-folder 100KM001. The green light on the
camera kept flashing but the light's on and there's no photos in there
except the two mentioned earlier.
Thinks - should I have set up another sub-folder with a different name?
