We are of to Sunny Devon at weekend and wondering if I should leave
the hub switched on to do its stuff whle we're away.
Hmmm...
Some people might say yes.
But others will say it's best to turn off all unessential things
(only leaving stuff like the Fridge/Freezer on), while the House is
UnOccupied for more than a few days.
& if you want to be able to Access (the stuff on) your Home Network,
while you're away, (which can be *very* useful) then yes, obviously
you'd need to leave it Switched on!
:-)
You could Access your Files & eMails & News Posts, for example
& also Send the Pics you take in Devon back to it.
:-)
Now that is very interesting. HOW????
Post Back, when you get back, if you still need any more help with
that sort of thing...
If you are going *this* weekend, then I can't really help, cos I should
be getting off up to bed sometime soon.
Would I have to take the hub with me??
No!
:-)
That's the whole point!
The Home Hub is at *home* - & is what handles the Internet Connection
through your ADSL Broadband Line & can also "Route" stuff to (& from
& between) any of the PCs on your own LAN (Local Area network) & also
the Internet.
So...
If you are "on the Internet" - i.e. somewhere else, not at home,
you can Access your stuff.
Exactly what you need to do to set it up will depend on what you want
to do with the stuff...
But of course, as with so many things like this, you don't know what
*can* be done, until you try it, or someone suggests it!
:-)
