Also, how come you have specified the Link to the Music as
a Link to Open up another Page, in another Window?

& then that Page has an <object> Tag, so as to have an Embedded
windoze Media player Object Playing the Music.
That seems ever so complicated to me?
& it also means that people who have their Security Settings nailed
tightly down won't get the Music Playing & also, it won't play on
other Operating Systems, such as Apple Mac & Linux etc. & maybe not
on some other Browsers as well.

Why not just have a Link to the .MP3 Music File?...

http://binarysunset.co.uk/Sounds/the-storm.mp3

Then people can (if they want to hear it, which is why I presume
you used a Link anyway) Click the Link & it will Play in whatever
Media Player they happen to have while they are looking at the Pics
in the Browser Window.

I did not link directly to the file simply because all the resources
I have looked at to try to find the best way to put music on a webpage
have suggested that the current "correct" method, as far as I have
been able to determine, is to use the <object> tag,

Yep - but that if you're actually trying to put the Music on your
Web Page!!!

& it's debatable whether that's actually a good idea, cos people should
have the choice of whether or not to listen to Music on Web Pages, which
is (I presume) why you chose to have a *Link* to the music...

& you've specifically done it as a separate Link (rather than it being
on the Web Page!)

so I feel inclined to try to master this method.

Yep, it's a good idea to know how to use the <object> Tag.
Cos it's designed to be used for lots of things.

I accept that I have not yet done all I can (indeed, anything)
to allow compatibility with other browsers and platforms.

Yep - specifying a windoze Media Player as the <object> is very
limiting.
