South America and a goodly portion of the Pacific Rim, not to mention

Well you may have a point if the whole issue was in conflict but it
isn't. Mainly because they fought their war, no matter how distasteful
it was, and the issue was lost. The middle east is still fighting its
war and won't let go so easily.


History sucks. It should be pushed under the carpet in favour of the
here and now. To keep using it as an excuse for violence is plain dumb
and stupid.

History is all we have to learn by and hopefully not make the same
mistakes. However, the 'history' in question is just a little under 50
years in duration and still in living memory.

Hmm. The word "Crusaders" is writ large in the "religious extremists, ne

I don't recall any of them being around in my lifetime.


Unfortunately plain dumb and stupid are the people being
manipulated by the mad mullahs in name of religion. They're about as
religious as a tin of dog food and less appetizing. Even for the dog.

Manipulated they are, plain dumb and stupid they're not. I would never
insult a person's religion, and I'm as atheist as they come.

This isn't about religion and you know it. Religion is being used as an
excuse. This is all about killing people to maintain control.
That's what it's all about. Control. Democracy is not something the
leaders of most Arab states would embrace willingly.

Well banging heads is right but it must be the heads of this, so called,
civilised western world. For it is their decisions, that have caused
this situation and they perpetuate this conflict by their total lack of
willingness to do the right thing.

In other words hot air, its no wonder the middle east does not trust the
west to do the right thing.

Why the hell should we sort out their problems?
The worlds reliance on oil is the reason we all *** foot about trying
not to upset the Arabs. The "Problem" can't be solved without upsetting
someone. What do you suggest we do?

The United Nations has no teeth, that's been obvious for years. It's
just a talking shop.

So Izzy bin laden and his mates knocking over the WTC, bombing trains in
Madrid, killing a bunch of holiday makers in Bali, not to mention
probable involvement in the London Tube bombings, the shoe bomber,
thankfully too stupid to light a match, plus the current alleged plot
and others, is all justified "Fighting the Cause" is it? What cause
would that be then?
Like Israel is going to hold up it's hands and say "ok we quit you can
have your desert back" ?

It finally dawned on the Irish that sitting down and talking might
actually be more productive than killing people indiscrminately.
Curiously enough right after 9/11.
It's a pity the Arab World can't learn the same lessons from it's own
extremists outragious actions and do something positive about putting
its own house in order.
Or maybe they just don't want to.

Israel is surrounded by countries whose publicly declared aim is to wipe
it off the face of the planet, killing all the people into the bargain.
You expect them to sit back and do nothing?
