I think, actually, that the main prob in the Posts/Threads that
MCC is talking about, is that it is *mothy* who is Sending Posts
using "Quoted-Printable" Encoding, so when people Reply to them,
*their* Replies don't have the ">" Quoting Characters at the
beginning of each Line of the Quoted stuff (unless they put them
in Manually) & without the ">" Characters at the beginning of each
Line, that makes it much harder to distinguish between & work out
who said what.

HTH

I've not deliberately set it up to do that. In fact everything
seems ok when I view any message so I'm not aware that this is
viewed any differently, by others, from what I see, unless someone
points it out.
Which someone has now!!

It/they (the Replies) *show up* fine in other people's Newsreaders...
It's only when *they* Reply to a Post (such as yours) that has been
Sent using Quoted-Printable Encoding, that *their* Newsreader then
doesn't put in the ">" Characters at the beginning of the Quoted Lines
in the Reply.

It's a known, documented problem with Posts that are Sent using
Quoted-Printable Encoding.

So now I'm going to get paranoid about it until I can find out how
to correct it.

This Post of yours (that I'm Replying to) *wasn't* Sent using
Quoted-Printable Encoding...

<quote>
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
</quote>

(when I reply to one that does use it, I always make sure to Manually
Add the ">" Characters in my Reply.)

I *think* the reason that some of your Posts are Sent using
Quoted-Printable Encoding is cos that happens when you are *Replying*
to a Post (or making a Post) that Contains 8Bit Characters - that's
Foreign, Accented Characters & things like the weird stuff that FN
includes in his Sig (& From: " Header)

Thunderbird (& many other Newsreaders) are careful *not* to use
8bit Characters, so they seem to Automatically?) Switch to using
Quoted-Printable, when you Send a Post that includes 8bit stuff in
it - Quoted-Printable Encoding is a way of getting 8Bit Characters
down into 7bit.

There's prolly an Option or Setting somewhere in it, which defines
what it does & how it handles things like that.
