Just heard this tip on the TV, (you maybe heard it)
As fans just circulate the hot air, fill a plastic bottle not
quite to the top with cold water, place in front of the fan,
result: nice cool air, I will try it out tonight in the bedroom.
Thanks for the tip Pat - I am trying it out now in the lounge.

Any tips gratefully accepted - 'specially for the bedroom cos we get
the sun first thing.
They've been advocating that on both TV and local radio today since
the Government have issued a hot weather warning. However they were
suggesting a plastic bottle filled with water and initially frozen in
the freezer for better results.
Didn't hear them say that FN, well...I had only just got up ;-)
Pat
They said that on our Local Radio I think.

...It really works !! Watch out, F-N... you'll have Gizmo and Fudge
The poster with the tip about having a larger surface area for container is
good, too. We've put a large salad bowl two-thirds full, in front... K and
R thought it was for refreshments ... ( must watch for later outputs !)
Marg -o-so-cool :o)
