Yes thats fine, I think I have it sussed, I just wanted to try it
with an expert before using it with my grandkids.

Ah - I see, so you've got it basically Set up then (I said it was easy
to Set up, didn't I? <g> There's just a few things in the Set up Wizard
that sometimes people aren't sure about).

I think I am wrong, I have set up Windows Live Messenger v8 and
managed a chat with Ronita but is this the same as netmeeting.

& it's now just a mateer of trying it out?
You'll need to make sure that you can Call out (Initiate a Call) OK
Which is not normally any problem, so long as you make sure your
Firewall doen't Block the Outgoing Connection attempt - NetMeeting
needs to have Outbound Access on TCP Ports 1720 & 1503 to be able to
make a Call.

Will try that out.

& then you'll also need to make sure that you can *Receive* an Incoming
Call Request - that can sometimes be a little bit more problematical -
especially if you are behind a Router - you have to make sure that TCP
Ports 1503 & 1720 aren't Blocked & are "Forwarded" by the Router to
whatever PC you want to accept the Incoming NetMeeting Calls.

I have a router (firewalled) and Zone Alarm.

NetMeeting also uses some other Ports (& also uses UDP), but normally
most Firewalls & Routers will allow them, once the call is Connected OK

Don't worry *too* much if you find that yo ucan Make calls, but not
Receive them - so long as the other people you want to Contact can
Receive them it will work OK.

I think I need a handholding session as I appear to be on the wrtong
track.

I mainly use Skype for that sort of thing.

Phones (voice contact) are not possible as I am deaf (very)

Or maybe someone like Boo, or Sandra, or Noreen or Jackie or one of
the other people who are often use "The Bikesheds" - M$ NetMeeting -
could help you Set it up.

I got Ronita but no answer from Rabbit.

Well, what about using Skype for the Initial Contact?
Do you have Skype?

See above

If not, why not just try calling me on NetMeeting?
I would like too. Where do I find NetMeeting?
