My AVG Icon in task bar is grey and I am unable to get the updates.
Tells me to restart the computer but it does not make any difference.

What does it say (what's the Error Message), when you try to Update it?
Does it say there's a problem Connecting to the Server?
Or does it say that it can't Locate (Find) the Server?
Or does it say that there aren't any Updates?

On the Task bar the icon is grey.
Holding mouse over the icon brings a message
"To finish the update process it is neccessary to restart the computer next
update scheduled on 30.6.06"

When I reboot it does not make any difference. The only difference is that
this has been a prob. for a couple of days and the message has changed the
scheduled date. I thought if I left it for a day it would catch up with the
re-schedule next day but it hasn't.

Double clicking the icon takes me to AVG Control Panel - is red - clicking
on that and then on update now, I get the message "Update was unsuccessful"
