When I'm writing an email and I get to the bottom of the page, only a
fraction of the bottom line I'm typing shows and the rest is out of
sight. When I press the return bar, I can then see all the line I've
just typed, but the same thing happens to the new line, even when the
sliding bar on the bottom right of the screen is as far south as it will
go. (OE and Windoze XP)

Two possibilities come to mind.

Is the OE composition window actually a little lower than you think, so
the
bottom edge is off the screen? Remember you can reposition the window,
provided it is not maximised.

Or 2, is the virtual screen larger than the physical screen - fiddle with
the
controls on the monitor.

It has to be the first possibility Ali, as the monitor didn't go to hossie
so the controls are the same. How can I reposition the window? I don't get
those little arrows when I go to the corners?

Click and drag the coloured (blue?) bar at the top of the window.
