DVD Re-writer help please/pmj?

I warned you I might need help didn't I?

I've spent a bit of time today deleting old files, emails, piccies today,
like wot all numpties should do.

I've got my Nero SmartStart CDRom to get all ready to burn my data
onto a blank DVD. So far, so good. When I click on "Add", a list of all My
Docs etc come up on the screen so I've clicked on "My Pictures", clicked on
all the photies in there, and started the burning of same, then got
error messages on the screen.

I've printed out the errors and got a 4 page print-out which to me is
unintelligble. There's all sorts of things like:-

illegal disc
all writers idle, stopping conversion
conversion idle, stopping reader
writing short lead-out
session fixation error
could not perform end of Disc-at-once
Burn process failed

Thinks, is this computer trying to tell me something?!

When I go back to My Computer and look at the DVD RAM drive, it shows no
data on the disk at all. I think I need some simple hand-holding here, or
another netmeeting with pmj. All this new technology flummoxes me, but then
I'm feeling discumknackerated at the moment lol
