Amazing to see the 8 eggs in the nest.
Hope they'll be OK.I'll endeavour to keep you posted with any furthe happenings..
Just been to have another peek. When I arrived some middleaged
farmer guy was just climbing up the bank from under the bridge,
behind which they have located their nests. He got into a 4 x 4 and
drove away. I then had a look for the geese. They were all on the
river at the opposite side of the bridge from the nests. After I'd
fed them I crossed to the other side of the bridge. I photographed
the nearest nest - the one that had 9 eggs on Friday:

I could only see 3 eggs
Here's the Friday photo

The other nest I couldn't see into last week was unoccupied aqnd I
could see 3 eggs in that one too. Summat is obviously going on. By the
time I left both nests had geese sitting on them again. Perhaps geese
can't count after all.
I hope nobody is taking those eggs FN and perhaps selling them??
I was wondering if it's the farmer - trying to make sure the geese can cope
with the number of goslings that eventually hatch. I think 12 would have
been more than a few beak and wings-full, don't you?
