Hi Ali,
I took a look at your SISU (UPS) posting statistics at:
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/my.web.pages/stats/2006/ups02s.html.Can you please explain the meaning of the
column called "Cumulative %"? Thanks.
it's the percentage of the total posts posted by all posters above and
including that line.
So, in February 2006, over a fifth (21.3%) of all posts originated from
just
two posters, over a quarter of posts (26.67%) from just three posters,
over
half the posts from just 9 posters, and over three quarters pf posts from
just 22 posters (out of 138 total posters).
The figure is given for all posters, but the ones I mention above are the
ones I find of interest.
Ali
Thanks for explaining, Ali. Yes, I see that the bottom
of the column totals 100%. Interesting statistics. (g)
Have you figured out what percentage of the posts
made people smile or laugh? (A lot.)
Also what percentage of posts brought comfort or
helped to foster good feelings? (A lot.)
And what percentage of the posts solved people's
tech (or other) problems or answered posters' questions?
(A lot.) Those are the important statistics. They would
certainly show how little dissension there is at UPS...
and what a pleasant place UPS is.
I know there's no easy way to create those kinds of
statistics, but they are interesting to wonder about.
Meanwhile, keep up the good work with your records.
They're fun to look at and they help us to appreciate the
folks who help to make UPS such a wonderful and
unique newsgroup.
