I am going to take out the motherboard battery again, leave out the
battey and see if she boots up ok, then switch off, and try again and
if she continues to start ok do your Windoze & pauseBreak thing. and
see where that takes the problem.

I think you may have a hardware issue, I wonder if the power supply is
in the process of giving up?
While you're taking the battery out it may be worth easing out
plugs/connectors and re-seating them. Also check for dust build up, use
a small, soft, brush and gently dust the insides, particularly fans in
case it's a heat issue.
When you do succeed in booting up it's worth having a cup of tea handy
and having a really good look in the BIOS screens. May be worth
re-setting it to defaults (usually a function key option) then making
sure that your HD's, CD/DVD etc. are all recognised at their proper
sizes.
If the BIOS battery is dead then your BIOS settings will be
lost/corrupted on each boot, I can't remember how old the PC is?

Many thanks again, the group and you will be well and truly fed up
with my problems, but I will get it sorted, I do not give up easily.

I have a sneaky feeling that many people in this group quite enjoy this
sort of thing. Assuming you are able to pin down the problem and fix it
then it may help us all in the future!
