No!
That isn't what I mean to say...

What I meant (& what I thought I said) was that the "Modified=..."
Line (in a Shortcut - .url File) refers to when the *Shortcut* File
was Modified.

That isn't anything to do with what is in the "URL=..." Line.
(of a Shortcut - .url File)

The "URL=..." Line (which isn't the "Modified=..." Line) can be *any*
URL - an http:// URL, or an ftp:// URL (or a news:// URL or a
mailto: URL), or even a file:// URL - to Point to a File on your
Local Hard Disk/Drive (or Floppy or USB or CD or whatever)

Try putting this in as the bit after the "URL=" bit in a Shortcut
(.url) File...

file://c:/boot.ini
or even just...
file://
(that Opens up your User Profile Folder)
or
mailto:test@xxxxxxxxx

& (as in a BookMarklet) it can be a javascript: URL
If it's a javascript: URL, then whatever is specified in the
javascript is what is done when you Click on it (or Select it
from the Favorites or Links Folder, or Drag it onto an Internet
Explorer Window).

So...
If the javascript: bit (of the "URL=..." Line) is:

alert(document.lastModified);

Then, what it does is to Pop up an Alert() Box, containing the
"lastModified" Property of the Document.

Which is nothing to do with the .url File itself.

Yes.
Well, it's whatever Date (& Time) that Internet Explorer thinks
is the "Last-Modified: " Date/Time.

That's *normally* taken from the "Last-Modified: " Header of the
Page/File (as sent by the Web Server, which usually takes it from
the Date/Time Stamp of the File according to the Filing System of
the Server) & is usually the Date/Time of the last Time that the
File was Uploaded to the Server.

But if there wasn't a "Last-Modified: " Header sent with the File
by the Server, then Internet Explorer will calculate it's own Date
& Time for it (or, sometimes, say something like "undefined" or just
use the Current Date/Time)
