Heh. That'd put a grin on their faces. A large proportion of the
problems with computers are caused by the owners fiddling with things
they know nothing about on the advice of the mate, son, uncle, bloke
down the street, who knows all about computers.

Very true. It wasn't PlusNet's problem, they didn't cause the problem
and it's unfair to criticise them because they couldn't fix it.
Their help desk is there to help with problems related to using their
service, it's not there to help punters fix their computers. Especially
when the problems arise from using equipment they know nothing about and
didn't supply.

The lesson, if there is one to be learned here, is to avoid USB adsl
modems. The attendant problems with drivers then go away.
