First port of call in situations like this is check all the connections,
plugs, ram, everything that can be unplugged. Unplug it and put it back
in again. And while you're at it make sure all the plugs are the right
way round. Some older multicore plugs can be inserted the wrong way
round.
If that doesn't work, take out all the new stuff, go back to a hardware
configuration that did work and then add the new stuff one bit at a time
until it breaks again.
