But surely it needs an Autorun.inf File, so that the (Graphical)
"Welcome to windoze" thingy will Automatically Start, when the CD
is Inserted into the Drive with windoze Running?
As opposed to the other (MSDOS based) Setup Routine, which you get
after the Boot Menu, when yo uBoot up off it.

LOL!!!
I was actually referring to the Files that are (or should be) in the
"Win98" Folder!
:-)
Yes, there's a Setup.exe in the *Root* Folder, but there's *also*
another (different) Setup.exe in the "Win98" Folder, along with the
other stuff, such as Format.com & the .CAB Files that I mentioned.
:-)

Ah right, yes.
But wouldn't it also make sense to have a Partition on that Hard Disk
for stuff?
So that his Data can be stored (or rather backed up) onto a *separate*
Physical Hard Disk, rather than (or as well as) just another Partition
on a Hard Disk?

Yes, of course!
:-)
Bu the did say he wanted some "fun", didn't he?
How do we know what he thinks of as "Fun", until we make various
suggestions like that?
:-)
He's already mentioned that he wants more than one Installation of
*both* WinXP & W98, so I assume he isn't averse to a fair amount of
Fiddling around!
:-)

Fair comment.
So he has a choice, doesn't he?

Maybe...
But *if* (as he suspects) he hasn't actually got a proper w98 Install
CD, then he is going to want to be absolutely sure that he doesn't lose
his existing Installation of w98, isn't he?
& trying to ReSize a Partition (as opposed to just Deleting it & then
ReCreating the Partition(s) needed with the Sizes wanted) always has
a risk.
If he at least has his WinXP Installation up & Running on another,
separate Physical Hard Disk, then he can always take the time to sort
out the w98 Installation as & when.
& (as I mentioned) he can even just *Copy* the w98 Files & Folders
(from within WinXP) to the New Hard Disk (temporarily) Wipe the original
Hard Disk & then Copy them back.
Yes, that would also Involve doing a SYS C: (to get the w98 Boot Sector
back onto it) & then a FIXMBR & FIXBOOT (to get the WinXP Boot Loader
Files onto it).
But it saves the potentially Risky business of trying to ReSize a
Partition that has a (working) Operating System on it.

"Practice makes perfect"!
:-)
& "If at first you don't succeed, then try, try & try again"!!!
(making sure to back up your stuff properly *before* the first try!)
