Re: Jamie's new computer

In news:13jbuncbiy9lb.dlg@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
Troy's Human whispered softly in my ear...:
Jamie's Mum and Mark bought the PC yesterday (Fujitsu Siemens from
Comet). I went over there today to set everything up. All went like a
dream - everything working perfectly :-) Must say I'm quite impressed
with the PC.

Got a dial-up connection set up but only got a speed of 31.2 K. Me
thinks they've been DAC'd. Broadband might be more difficult than we
thought.

Can anyone explain the difference between Plusnet "Broadband Plus" and
"Broadband PAYG". They both cost the same - PAYG has a cap of 1 Gb -
what cap does Plus have ? Can't see it anywhere.

TIA.

Plus has a higher contention ( or lower , depending on how you view it lol) its 50:1 as opposed to 30:1 on payg.

Payg has a limit of 1GB and extra GB will be a quid or so if you go over that within the month.( you can opt to pay in advance kind of thing and specify how much you want included..the price will alter accordingly)
Plus 'technically' has no usage limits but it does say it isn't suitable for a lot of large downloads or P2P filesharing..in other words if you download huge amounts they will pull the plug on you.

Plus gives you 100Mb of web space, payg gives you 250

It's sorta pay your money and take your choice, I have payg and pay £17.99 for 4Gb per month, the extra webspace and 30:1 contention suits me, and I decided that was a reasonable amount for me to pay. The connection has been fine and that is the main thing for me really.
