Yep, more than likely.

The VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) uses a very wide range of
(Dynamically allocated) Porst & they are UDP, not TCP.

But run the "Audio Tuning Wizard" anyway, to make sure that the Mike
& Speakers are working with it OK.

BTW - were you calling him?
Or was he calling you?

That often makes a difference, especially if one of you is behind
a Router.

BTW - regardless of which end initiates the Call, *both* ends still need
to allow *Inbound* connections, from the other one, on the required
Ports.

Yep, it should be - so long as you allow *UDP* on those Ports.

& thus to *Receive* Incoming NetMeeting Calls, the Firewall needs to
pass those same things through

though actualyy you don't need Port 522 & 389 if you aren't using ILS
Servers.

& that's the prob!
Most things wouldn't expect to have such a wide range of Ports needed
to be Open.

But I've found that actually NetMeeing only uses a fairly limited,
but still quite wide) range from that lot.

Try Calling FN up, if he was calling you.

You can use his IP Address directly (which he will have told you)
or you can use his DNS Name PlusNet allocate his IP Address to.

It sometimes Helps to use the Phone to establish initial contact.

Though NetMeeting has a TextChat thingy (& Whiteboard) to communicate
with, while you get the VoIP sorted out.
