Have you tried a relaxing bath before bed time. I found that my son slept
soundly at night and when that didn't work some milk to help him drop off.
When he was about one we got him a single bed and when he would wake up at
night one of us would sleep next to him. He would settle down and go to
sleep himself with minimal disruption.
