state of mind; I explained that altered states of mind can't be induced
by blood, although they can be induced by pain.

So why did you introduce pain we were talkign about blood being the way
to alter or change not only peolpes minds but what they do and how they act.

V wasn't asking about how altered states can be induced, he was talking
specifically about the supposed link between blood and altered states.
And what are those links.
There's aren't any unless you wish to change it to pain.
So if you can change the way the altered state is 'transmitted'
from talking about the book saying it's blood you see that as in some way
relivant because pain can alter states, wellm I'm saying drugs can too,
but NOT all pain produces altered states of mind and not all drugs do either
but as far as I'm away there's no evidence that blood can do this
other than perhaps with squimisgh peolpe who pass out at the sight of blood
or show other psychological effects.

My response to him clarified that link, and didn't just talk generally
about altered states. Do you understand that?
And what makes you think that saying pain can produced altered states
clarify what he has heard about blood, perhaps the same clarification
as when drugs alter the state of mind.

Yes moods can be altered by many things.
From a pornographic image, the the intestines of a freshly cut open
human or animal to drugs and alcohol.

The fact that there'll be blood all over the place may seem very symbolic
and important, and lead some people to think that it is the blood which is
causing those changes, but in fact, it's the pain, not the blood that does
it. See?

Yep in that it's not the blood, give someone a promotion and you could well
change their state of mind regarding their job. Btu this is in no way
addressing the points
that V. is talking about in this book which is more a Harry potter type with
blood as some potion that has magical properties, that can be manipulted to
change
a persons mind or control how they think.
