Either way, the end result is pretty similar, and perfectly satisfying,Your smug exterioir does show rather well, but it doesn't change reality.
from where I'm sitting.
The Student/security person was educated wasn't he.
You do know that this is an entirely different thread, abotu a different
subject, ona different newgroup, right?
And what has that got to do with it.
You can be a smug arsehole on any group doesn't change anything though does
it.
Or you saying you're a differnt person on a.g compared to u.p.g.
No I';m asking about the 'sort' of people that choose pain over other
drugs.
Yeah; those would be self-harmers. Do you see how that works?
I mean what sort of people 'scum of the earth' or 'clever people',
Neither of those classifications is relevant in the question of the type
of people who self-harm.
oh those sort of people, that tells everything.
So why did you introduce pain we were talkign about blood being the way
What do you mean, why did I "point to" the atered states of mind? V
mentioned that the book talked about using blood to induce an altered
state of mind; I explained that altered states of mind can't be induced
by blood, although they can be induced by pain.
And as I said they can be induced by drugs.
Yes, they can also be induced by some drugs, but that's not really
relevant here;
to alter or change not only peolpes minds but what they do and how they act.
V wasn't asking about how altered states can be induced, he was talkingAnd what are those links.
specifically about the supposed link between blood and altered states.
There's aren't any unless you wish to change it to pain.
So if you can change the way the altered state is 'transmitted'
from talking about the book saying it's blood you see that as in some way
relivant because pain can alter states, wellm I'm saying drugs can too,
but NOT all pain produces altered states of mind and not all drugs do either
but as far as I'm away there's no evidence that blood can do this
other than perhaps with squimisgh peolpe who pass out at the sight of blood
or show other psychological effects.
My response to him clarified that link, and didn't just talk generallyAnd what makes you think that saying pain can produced altered states
about altered states. Do you understand that?
clarify what he has heard about blood, perhaps the same clarification
as when drugs alter the state of mind.
So a crap one then, nothing to do with what V was saying the book refered
Which bit of that is so terribly complicated that even after having it
explained a dozen times, it's still beyond your comprehension?
The bit where there's no real connection to blood and pain
other that perhaps something painful will also result in blood.
Tada! That's the link. If you cut yourself, it will hurt, and it will
bleed.
to.
If you do it "right", the pain may lead to an altered state,You can also get someone to pass outn before any blood is shed.
and will (almost) certainly trigger endorphins, thus altering mood.Yes moods can be altered by many things.
From a pornographic image, the the intestines of a freshly cut openhuman or animal to drugs and alcohol.
The fact that there'll be blood all over the place may seem very symbolic
and important, and lead some people to think that it is the blood which is
causing those changes, but in fact, it's the pain, not the blood that does
it. See?
Yep in that it's not the blood, give someone a promotion and you could well
change their state of mind regarding their job. Btu this is in no way
addressing the points
that V. is talking about in this book which is more a Harry potter type with
blood as some potion that has magical properties, that can be manipulted to
change
a persons mind or control how they think.
