Yep. Primarily it describes Warp Records bands like Aphex Twin,
Autechre and Squarepusher, although in the early 1990s I think the term
was used more broadly to cover any experimental electronic music that
didn't sound like techno. Fantastically misnamed, IDM (Intelligent
Dance Music) doesn't have to be intelligent or danceable or to sound
particularly like music. IDM meets "industrial" through projects like
Coil.
