Is that what you *think* or what you actually know, I man how can you
possibly be sure?

Well what's wrong with that?

When my mum was in hospital we often used to help her with all sorts
of things, not because staff didn't have the time, but because we wanted to
give the help, and perhaps more to the point sometimes she would prefer our
help.
Perhaps your wife preferred your help.
