I had to go last week, my benefit hadnt hit my bank, anway they said i had
to use a telephone, one of about 8 to call the correct dept.

I said i couldnt use it, as the seats were damn low and so were the
telephones, i struggled for about 20 min, as i had to stand and lean on the
wall i couldnt see the buttons eaasy.

I had to wait, no chairs near the payment window so i sat on the wooden covr
radiator, it was actually a bit too high for me but better than a too low
seat.

The sec guard came over and told me to get down, i told him where to get off
and that was it.

It was damn painful and a struggle to use the dog and bones, i ended up
making a formal complaint about the prat receptionist who you see as you
walk in, as he said he didnt give a toss that i couldnt use the phones easy.

ta!

PS

well done on the DLA Martin Dawes, saw your post the other day

Last time I was in the jobcentre (haven't been in for a few months), they have changed how they work. Instead of searching the computer, printing off slips, then seeing a member of staff about the jobs, they now use staff just for people signing on.
Everyone has to use one of the phones to ring through a number for jobs once found on computer. Not a quiet environment, and I can't use an unamplified phone at all.
They don't have a textphone available - so if I needed to ring I have to go home or to the local deaf centre.

I think a complaint under the DDA is called for.
