Morrisons only have internal email and a limited website due to the previous
chairman Sir Ken. As a company technology was not at the forefront of the
business plan. The company culture used to be customer focused but since the
safeway purchase and board changes sadly the company has lost a lot of
respect from the customer and competition alike.
I now for a fact that they take allegations of dishonesty seriously however
small the amount involved. The best course of action is to contact the head
office and ask to speak to a regional director. They in turn will respond
and investigate fully and involve their internal security department.
All calls are recorded and responded to, it is unfortunate that the store
manager appeared to cast off your accusations as we live in a society where
certain individuals see supermarkets as an easy target and sometimes
management just see a complaint as another way off being ripped off. I am
not in anyway implying that your complaint is unjustified or trying to rip
the supermarket off.
I worked for this company for over ten years and sadly decided to leave when
I realised that the business model was changing with less of an emphasise on
customer service. That combined with the safeway takeover was enough for me.
My advice would be to contact head office with a follow up letter confirming
the call. They will respond quickly and deal with your complaint.
Remember that this is a yorkshire based company that still holds yorkshire
values over money and will not tollerate any member of staff who is a thief.
In my own experiences if a person is dipping the till or customers change
they are usually involved in other light fingered action.
They do in fact have general email but not for public use, remember that for
years the competition were using wireless hand scanners for stock control
and we were using good old fashioned stock and order pads but you had to
provide your own pen.
best of luck
sean
