Are you suggesting that's representative of house prices across the UK ?
Or
that it demonstrates there is no shortage of affordable housing,

Joe it is people or should I say the people who are earning big wages
IN the southeast who have pushed up house prices nationwide in the
first place
It's the result of an imbalance between supply & demand. Prices are
inevitabky driven up when there is a shortage in any basic commodity.
There is very little chance of him ever becoming leader & none whatever
while the Party throws a fit wheneve te word 'Europe' crops up.
Praise be they do keep throwing a fit in respect of Europe Joe. There
is only one advantage to being in Europe for the average UK citizen
the government if you can call it that have had to meet European regs
regarding the amounts of alcohol and tobacco one can bring into the UK
when returning from a EU member country. Speaking personally if the UK
people where to be given the same conditions and treatment has other
Europeans who are sick or disabled plus the same high standard of
health care that many people receive in other countries France and
Holland to mention but two I would be more agreeable to us remaining
in the EU . Until we do get the same standards and allowances and
benefits then we can come out tomorrow ,
Hang on a minute. Weren't you one of those who supported the Tories Tax
cuts, with the resultant decline in public services & health care. Perhaps
you should have given some thought to the effects of that Policy then. I
suspect you're now at the age where the standards in health care are more
important to you - but you can't have it ways.
why should the British people
have to put up with all the nonsense that the European parliament
tells us to comply with . No more feet and inches no more pounds and
ounces everything we older generation have been taught from an early
age has been thrown out of the window and we are all having to pay
dearly for the pleasure . I am amazed that we have been allowed to
continue to drive on the left but for how much longer I ask !! .
See - i only mentioned Europe & away you went o)
Halleluyah to that! Perhaps if Dave clearly stated that he supports the
existing legislation (introduced by the Labour Party :), restoring the
right
of employees to freedom of association by joining a Trades Union,
Ask yourself what would happen if that where to happen I will tell you
what would happen there would be at least one major service industry
on strike electricity gas trains busses you name it
Oh dear! There *is* the legal right to belong to a Union already. So which
major service industry is currently on strike ?
.I have lived
though the " good" old days and I for one do not want to return to
them .I lost a damn good job back in the seventies thanks to the T&G
union of which I was forced to be a member, the employer shut up shop
rather than be blackmailed into paying an excessive wage demand and I
did not blame the company one bit for closing its doors. I made sure
afterwards that I never joined another trade union and I just wish Mrs
Thatcher had got rid of all the unions .
You can't change what's happened. so there's no point in wishing you could.
In just the same way, there's no point in complaining about the standard of
health care & social services when you supported the tax-cutting policy
which lead to it in the first place. It looks hypocritical to me!
