If you want to sell on eBay you have to accept paypal.
The method of withdrawing money from paypal is transfer to your bank
account. How is that going to happen if paypal don't have your bank
account details?
There are some (granted possibly not many) that only want to deal with
cheques / postal orders and local pickup, ie cash and hence no need for
paypal.
