I've bought an item on Ebay (UK).

I did notice "We accept PAYPAL" which is prominently displayed at top of listing.

I did not scroll to the stipulatation in their small print of their T&Cs:"You also agree to use our 3rd party eBay approved checkout".

I don't want to enter info into a third party checkout and have politely asked them several times to allow me to pay direct by Paypal.

The response has been inform me that I can only pay through Channel Advisor and that if I don't they will file an unpaid item strike against me. They also refuse to cancel the bid saying that the only way for them to recover fees is to file the strike against me.

I have no other strikes. Do they matter?

What I did was pay directly through the PayPal website through the 'Pay for an auction' link.

That was the first, and last time I encountered channel advisor. The vendor's CA merchant page was so sloppy, and the whole thing involved about 4 different domains, some http: some https: there was no way I was putting PayPal credentials in there.

You might like to try the PayPal website to see if you can pay the transaction that way. Worked for me.

I did try but they've changed it - they tell you to pay through Ebay now.
