Got my first taste of it today.
Set item yesterday via Special Delivery yesteday
Today I got mail from buyer at 4.30PM to this tone;
"This item did not arrive today and Royal Mail tells me that it is
delayed. There for, you are able to claim a refund on the postage.
Could you please refund me this postage amount as £10.99 is a hefty
charge for something that has not shown up on time?"
Ended up phoning royal mail to be informed that I have to wait till
item is delivered then decide to fill claim form with little mention
of provisions that in certain circumstances they can refuse to pay.
Now since I am trade, I decided to refund half of customers shipping
costs out of my pocket as a good will gesture (does not effect me at
all as item is sold on behalf of my client on commission bases). I
hate to see some small priced item sellers doing it and loosing their
profit.
Any thoughts without trying to flame me ;-))
Pay the extra insurance, its really small to guarantee next day
delivery with compensation. when you get one like that does not come in,
its 20p for £1000 for you, Its most unlikely for it not to be delivered
though as they push the boat out as to not pay the compensaition
What part of "Set item yesterday via Special Delivery yesteday" did you
not read, then?
you really are a thick ***, and I mean that, my post mentions that you
can also insure special delivery for consequential loss, this you dumb ass
bitch
Oh look, did they let Bellfield out already? You really shouldn't assume the
gender of a poster you know.
means that you will be compensated very well for little additional cost if
it does not make it on time. For me Special delivery is only worth the
money for Loss of item, 1st class and recored outweigh the cost of special
for next day delivery for me, just giving a refund on the original price
is hardly a incentive for them to guarantee it, Other companies would
offer double your money back.
Maybe in your little world Special Delivery means 100% guaranteed, but not
in mine, when I used to use it, was not that great I felt.
Oh dear. You do realise that consequential loss in this instance would pay
you no more than the normal SD compensation for delayed delivery. No?
Thought not. Plus, of course, you have to prove consequential loss over and
above that incurred by the delay. Raj's sole "loss" is a refund of half the
SD cost. And he'll get that back as it was delayed. I think you might wish
to check your original post as well: no mention of consequential loss, I
think you will find.
