BBC2 Working Lunch viewer yesterday said he would be penalised by the
rise in fees starting next week.

This is probably what he was referring to

Looking at their examples ebay seem to suggest we will be better off

I will, basically if you're a gold or above powerseller with good DSRs you
are better off. As a gold powerseller the saving is basically *equivalent*
to paying 33% of the listing fees I am currently paying.

I like the way eBay is presenting this new fee structure as a great
OPPORTUNITY for Powersellers. Even if you are Titanium and have DSR's over
4.6 on EACH of the 4 categories, your final value fees will STILL be higher
than they are today. Insertion fee reductions will only have a very minimal
effect for sellers like me who start most auctions at 99p (as we are always
encouraged to do by eBay).

These changes are about increasing eBay's profits, nothing more, nothing
less, let's not forget that.

I don't disagree in principle with the changes they are making but, as
usual, they are making a mess of it and are not listening to Powersellers
who live and breathe eBay every day.

DSR on postage & packing & dispatch for people in Rural area's like myself
of 4.6 or above is VERY DIFFICULT to achieve. Buyers rate this with a
different mindset compared to the other DSR's because they are being asked
to rate VALUE FOR MONEY. Very few people will rate it 5, even if postage is
charged at cost without any markup of any kind.

If all buyers tick the '4' box on P&P (which is labelled 'acceptable'), this
will not be an acceptable DSR rating for the new discount. That just doesn't
make sense. If eBay were to reduce the bar from 4.6 to 4.0 I would be happy.

The FVF's have gone up way over how much the listing fees are which is 10p
saving to £4+ a sale for me, unless I hit the targets I have found a way to
cheat the Dispatch time, but it might catch me out on postage cost, we will
see. Just have to be that bit smarter !!
