I do know that if something is fitted with
THERMOSTATIC TEMPERATURE CONTROL
There's little point in having a MIXER tap which allows the
user to MIX hot and cold water by hand to achieve the desired
temperature.
A thermostatic mixer tap
That is not a MIXER TAP !
Did you not see:

Hey, it even has those magic words:
thermostatic
shower
mixer
tap
...in the title.
A mixer tap allows the user to control the temperature of the water
by altering the proportion of hot and cold water emitting from the
outlet.
That's a manually controlled mixer tap.
That is a thermostatically controlled mixer unit. Which once set
controls the temperature of the water automatically without
any further intervention from the user.
That's a thermostatically controlled mixer tap.
Note that the volume of water is still controlled by one of the two
"taps". The other sets the temperature (ie mixture).
There's only one tap. To control the flow. That's what taps do.
In the original listing the unit was described as having an
THERMOSTATIC TEMPERATURE CONTROL
That's a function performed within the tap.
Which tap is this ?
There's a bar with a tap at one end to control the flow - the
FLOW CONTROL.
But that's at the OTHER END of the bar to the thermostat knob.
....
The "control" is performed
by interaction between the user twisting the knob, and the thermostatic
device inside.
ps What do you advise the OP does about getting his <whatever you want
to call it> from the seller?
If it is indeed misiing then it might help if he called it by its
proper name. The control bar or whatever. As soon as they read his
email - requesting a part that clearly wasn't even mentioned in the listing
(hint hint) the seller probably thought they were dealing with a nutter.

....
Like most people the seller]probably tho
