Which their listing did not deny, a listing put up on 28th Dec.

Like I already said, they would have had to increase their prices in
order to do that. How much extra would you have paid just to have it
say "We will not be working over Xmas" ? How many people do you think
would have already guessed they wouldn't be working over Xmas?

"Looking in other people's pockets" is always a risky exercise. If their listings are derived from a template, it might well take less than the cost off P&P on one item to change the template (and hence all the new listings) over the holiday period. If they aren't done from a template then I shudder to think how they make money from many items for sale at such small sums.

No wonder so many sellers develop an attitude like that, with buyers
like you. I'm not saying that's what they are doing, it could just as
easily be delayed in the post or been stolen by one of the post
office's temporary staff. Try buying something else and see if you are
blocked. If you are, you will have your answer.

Blocked by who? Would a seller block me for the temerity to ask once to trace a missing item? If so, then you have proven that if I'd asked them before I ordered they might also have had a stupid kneejerk reaction.
